Emmanuel Jal couldn’t be further removed from his life as a former child soldier in Sudan. Now living in Toronto, the artist has a brand new album entitled “The Key” in stores and online now, and premiered a new film “The Good Lie” with co-star Reese Witherspoon at TIFF this year.
He teamed up once again with Director Grandson & Son on his latest video “My Power”, featuring Chic and the legendary Nile Rodgers. The team previously collaborated on the video for “Cush”, which you can watch right here.
“My Power” tells the story of a robot who appears in the village and meets a young boy. The robot struggles with fighting for the army, or standing up for the boy and his village. Perhaps a subtle reference to Emmanuel’s past in Sudan.
