Director Stephano Barberis wins 17th BCCMA Award for Video Director of the Year!

Stephano never ceases to amaze us. A huge congrats to the man, the legend, on his 17th consecutive BCCMA win!

October 24th, 2016 – (Vancouver, BC, Canada) – Stephano Barberis has scored his 17th consecutive BCCMA last night for Video Director Of The Year at the BC Country Music Association‘s award show at the Hard Rock Theatre in Coquitlam, BC. This was the 40th anniversary of the award show, which also featured a who’s who lineup of British Columbian talent.

Music video’s under the director’s nomination included Dallas Smith‘s “One Little Kiss,”Chad Brownlee Music‘s “Hearts On Fire” and “I Hate You For It,” Bucko & Toad‘s “Summer Girl,” and breakout newcomer Jesse Mast‘s “Bad Blood.”

Last month, Barberis returned from London, Ontario where he won his 9th CCMA Award for Video Director Of The Year.

Stephano Barberis’ tally of directorial and video awards now stands at a staggering 33 wins out of over 70 nominations. This is a mind blowing number that makes him the most highly awarded music video director in Canadian history by a large and ever expanding margin.

The director’s exalted reputation for star-making and re-invention is evidenced by millions of online views, over 60 official top 20 video hits on major television stations on multiple continents, prolific output, and over 150 music videos trusted to his vision.

Stephano has quietly achieved this iconic success by frequent, surprise, sea-change reinvention, an unwavering obsession with quality, and a cult-like dedicated following in industry and fan circles who religiously support the director at every stage of his career. With a strongly cinematic influence of magic-realism, Barberis has often been credited with changing the aesthetic face of country music in Canada while pushing boundaries in pop, rap, and other genres.
